4 Dangerous Locations When Escalator Is Running
1. At the apron and step clearance
This is the most dangerous and prone to pinching. The state clearly stipulates that the sum of the gaps between the apron boards and the steps on the left and right sides of the escalator should not exceed 7 mm. The escalator will deform after running for a period of time, and the gap between the apron board and the steps may become larger. The child's strength is small, and the sandals touch the apron board. Under the action of friction, the shoes are likely to be rolled into this gap!
2. Comb plate between upper and lower steps
Many escalators are painted with a yellow line at the front and rear of each step. In addition to being a reminder, this is also a key structural part called the comb plate. If it is used for a long time, the teeth of the comb plate will fall off, and the gap between the two teeth will increase, and it is very likely that the toes will be caught.
3. Step and ground junction
There is also a gap between the steps and the ground. If the maintenance is not timely, the gap may become larger, and the bottom of the sandal may be rolled into the gap, pinching or even breaking the toes!
4. Between the elevator handrail and the ceiling
It is also very dangerous between the stair handrail and the ceiling. When the escalator is running, the angle between the handrail and the ceiling is often easy to pinch the head or hand protruding from the handrail.
