Introduction to Escalator
Definition
An escalator is a stationary electric drive device with a circular motion ladder path that tilts up or down to transport passengers. Intuitively, it looks like a moving staircase with a moving handrail.
Moving walks are stationary, electrically driven devices with circular motion walkways that transport passengers horizontally or slopingly.

Tilt Angle
The angle of inclination (α) is the maximum angle between the running direction of the step or pedal and the horizontal plane.
The standard inclination of escalators is 27.3, 30 or 35 degrees, while moving walks are ≤ 12 degrees.
35° is only used when the lifting height is ≤ 6m and the speed is ≤ 0.5m/s.
Lifting Height / Installation Length
Lifting height: the vertical distance between the two floors where the escalator is installed
Installation length: determined by lift height and inclination
Shipping Size
Shipping dimensions refer to the length, height and width of the escalator lying flat on the ground.
