How to maintenance cleaning and repair the escalator

Routine maintenance, cleaning and repairs are necessary for the safety of passengers. It can also leave a good and professional impression on the passengers.

*Escalator must be stopped during maintenance, cleaning and repair.

1. Cleaning and maintenance of handrails

     During cleaning and maintenance, the escalator must be stopped, otherwise the cleaning agent may penetrate into the handrail.

1.1 Use a damp and clean towel to clean the surface of the handrail.

1.2 After drying, use a towel containing detergent to wax the surface of the handrail.

1.3 Wait for the wax noodles to air dry (4 to 5 minutes). Sand the surface of the handrail with a dry towel until it is dry.

1.4 Move the handrail to the uncleaned part and repeat the above steps until the entire handrail is cleaned.

1.5 Runtime cleaning

       While the handrail is running, clean the surface of the handrail with a dry towel. Be careful not to get the towel caught in the handrail.

1.6 Remove dust and oil

      Remove dust with diluted detergent.

      Clean up oil and dirt with a high concentration solvent.

2. Use a feather sweep to clean the dust on the surface of the decoration.

3. The surface of the inner panel needs to be cleaned with a neutral detergent until it is dry.

4. Maintenance and cleaning of pedals and comb plates.

   Do not pour the cleaning agent directly on the pedals and comb plates. If water drips into the pedals and comb plates, it will cause electrical short circuit.

5. Daily maintenance matters

Escalator operation: motor, handrail running sound, handrail tension, step running sound, handrail guide wheel sound, whether the operation is good

Operation button: button operation status, degree of damage, terminals and wires

Steps and comb teeth: whether the steps are stable, whether the steps are cracked or damaged, and the degree of stability and damage of the comb teeth

Gap between steps and comb teeth: Check if the gap between steps and comb teeth is sufficient

Gap between steps: check whether the gap between steps is sufficient and whether the horizontal gap between steps is sufficient

Gap between step and apron: check whether the gap between step and apron is sufficient

Baseboards: Check the skirt edge

Safety device: check and operate whether the operation of each safety device is normal

Mechanical coupling: remove dust, oil, and add lubricant on the mechanical coupling

Operation of the mechanical room: Check the operation of the equipment in the mechanical room and add lubricating oil

Magnetic Brake: Operation of the Brake

Step chain and drive chain: operate the step chain and drive chain, check for rust, wear, cracks and damage, and add lubricating oil to check the wear of the step bushing

Drive: Check installation, operation, rust and damage for any abnormal noise and temperature

Automatic refueling device: whether the automatic and oil pump motor and oil supply system work normally
